Teamwork Studios: Expect The Unexpected

Welcome to Teamwork Studios! (Not to be confused with Dreamworks Studio)

Here you can always  "Expect The Unexpected"!

Today we are shooting a couple (two) of scenes for an upcoming movie, two un-expected characters have stepped up to the challenge to save the day.

They must work together and be “The Ultimate Team” if they want to be successful. That being said if the crowd has a good time viewing what we record today then Teamwork Studios considers this a huge success!

Everything created by Carbs for the Run & Jump GameJam 2 over the past 7 days!

Controls:

📜To get started click on a character to pull up their script interface.

🖱Scroll wheel or use the scroll bar to see all available options.

🖱Left Click — Drag Actions & Dialog from the script to the timeline below.

🖱Left Click — Also grabs on to the timeline playhead.

🖱Right Click — Removes Actions and Dialog from the timeline.

Instructions:

Try to time up the actions with dialog, the two tracks can overlap and work together.

Though try not to overlap actions/dialog on the same track… it gets funky lol

Using actions and dialog try and come up with a solution to the current scenes scenario!

There is no wrong answers here so try and make something funny or perhaps it could be serious

Our sound team was taking their union break on the day we had wanted to shoot these scenes and has asked kindly that you fill in to make some sounds while the characters act out the scene “we can fix this in post”.

Extra Tidbits:

I had an absolute blast with this jam and really thinking outside the box on this one. I really enjoy the process of film and creating the perfect shots. While doing this jam I also had so much fun learning and tinkering with new ideas and tech that I had not thought to make before!

For instance the timeline is a completely custom system that I have come up with and boy was it complicated.

This was the first time I also played with 2D none animations! So much fun and a huge amount of potential!

Little Bugs That Pop Up Sometimes:

Overlapping Actions might break, try to keep each event on the green actions not overlapping.

If you have any issues clicking on any of the UI buttons, simply close the action picker (script) by clicking on a character again, it seems to get in the way sometimes.

Remember you can right click to delete unwanted actions / dialog.

Hope you have as much fun playing this little experience as I did making it! I'm quite proud of what I was able to do even with the timeline of only 7 days aside. 😆 

Might continue adding to the game at some point :) Props... I wanted to add props so badly like a little sword or other item interactions. The possibilities are endless!
